Default Engine oil capacity XN1 vs XN1A

    G'day everyone

I was wondering about the difference in engine oil capacity between the XN1 and XN1A.
Always thought they're practically the same, so why does the manual state 4 litres for the XN1 and 4.5 litres for the XN1A ?
    Is it the sump ?

where does it say 4.5 for the xn1a?

i was always wondering if 4 litres includes the filter or not, it's not written anywhere.

Some have a different sump, but the easy way is to get 5 litres of oil and take your time filling, checking the dip stick.

I have several 504 manuals that state 4 liters
As for the 505, it's Haynes (see attached PDF file) and about any lubricant advisor website states 4.5 liters for the 2L engine.

On my 2 litre 504, I always add in 4.5 litres of oil after each oil change (including changing the filter). Been doing this for 30 years!

Anything more than 3.5 litres results in a leaky messy engine undersides.

The dipsticks can be rather vague between models.
