Default Peugeot 505 oil pan removal

    Hi,
I am trying to replace the oil pan gasket on my series 2 Peugeot 505 but struck one last bolt which is obscured by a plate over the gearbox housing. I have undone the bolts on the bracket but suspect I might have to undo the engine mount as well to remove. Is this correct? Should the process be similar to the 504 as described in the link below?

    Thanks.

From memory, you have remove the "small sump" -attached to the "large sump" . Because there bolts underneath that fix the large"sump", ie the sump that bolts to the sides of the engine block.

if it's carburettor engine and it has the aluminum sump you have to remove first the lower tray to expose 4 of the bolts of the upper sump.
one of the bolts is hidden behind the lhd engine mount, you'll have to remove the mount.
if it has power steering you'll have to disconnect the rack from the cross-member because the ram hides another bolt.
    have fun...
