Gees you never know what's out there do yer. It'd be a heavy old thing but I doubt you could fit a straight 8 in there, perhaps a V8 instead.

Good grief. I drove through BH last Easter. I didn't see it!!!

Perhaps post in the Renault area of Aussiefrogs???

For 59 Floride - have to be a small block Chev V8 I'd say. They aren't big cars, the NN series.

Wow. It never ceases to amaze does it, what is out there....

This car was advertised on Aussiefrogs in 2005. At that time it was in South Australia. Due to lack of interest it was subsequently consigned to a local dealer. Looks like it ended up in Queensland and, judging by the sign attached to its rear, (see photos) has been the subject of a divorce settlement. No mention of a reserve price. I could be tempted to cross to the dark side for $4-5000 but might be dreaming. Another $15000 would probably bring it up to my standards. Only 15 bhp pulling 1100 kg and a top speed around 60 km/h make it an acquired taste. This combined with looks only a vision impaired mother could love means lotsa luck on a flurry of bids.

I have spoken to the owner some time ago, and have seen the car. It is in amazing original condition, but at that time at least the owner thought it was worth significant money, certainly quite a lot more than $10K. Yes it would be quite steady on the road, but it will appeal to some.

I suspect a low-powered light truck would be the feel of the car! But, for the right owner, it's a FIND, for sure. I'm amazed.

I think I have met the owner of this car as well, IIRC he turned up at a club meeting to extol it's virtues to club members in the hope of hooking the interest of a potential purchaser. I had to overt my gaze away from the glossy photos he had on display in case I became the hooked. It certainly did look like a great car from his pictures.

I note with interest he has crossed out the name of his recently deceased wife.

Methinks you are ignorant of horsepower ratings. This car is nine taxable horsepower under the British (RAC) formula and six CV under the French system. It develops 15 brake horsepower. I suggest you look up the relevant formulas which take such things as piston area into account. Volumetric efficiency doesn't come into it.

I think looks like the tape says Vonna in handwriting. I wondered whether the sign writer simply made a mistake and the owner couldn’t be bothered getting it repainted, but i guess the original wife may have been replaced in some fashion?

I don't know much these cars so I just ignorantly read the owner sign, either way, not much in the way of hp.
