On the ZF 4HP20 box, flashing both Sport and Snow lights indicates a fault is detected in the auto transmission. Diagnosing further needs more information.

Thank you @seasink. Does it mean I will have to change the auto transmission or can it be repaired.

I had a Land Rover Discovery with a ZF 4hp22. The flashing lights indicated that, due to some glitch, the transmission had gone into limp mode. After a few cycles of ignition on/off and doors lock/unlock it would always come good.

Isn't the first step a really thorough flush and refill with the correct ATF?

There's diagnostic help in that document. The very first step is to use the gearbox dipstick - colour and smell. The maker recommends a change after 10 years.

The ZF factory repair manual is also online if you are up to a difficult job. Repair of an old automatic transmission in Australia can be very expensive. I have no knowledge for Africa.
