    Icon5 Another 205 GTI question

    Hey Guys ,
Did the S2 GTI with the updated interior come out in 89 and
did it look the same as a S1 from the outside?

I know the S2 had clear indicators at the front and the reflective panel but was that after 1990?

I'm really close the buying one, just got to find the right car!

    Cheers

Yes. I've seen some S2 with reflective panels and some without. It may have been a dealer fitted extra on those cars.

The Red Coloured S2's had orange indicators from memory while the rest got the clear.

F**k that shit, just buy a good car. Is that what makes a good car... lenses and plastic panels?
The so called S2 (about 89 to 91) had stronger seat material(which is likely to be in good rather than crappy condition, although it doesnt look as cool). The dash is different, but who cares. Dials versus sliders.
    Lenses, bah humbug.
And yes for a while at least the panel was an option.
    Good luck.

    Thanks fellas.
Just wanted to make sure I had an understanding as to what I was looking at.
    Cheers!

Warwick's got a point.. the lenses and indicators can be changed. Buy something that's in good mechanical condition. I bought a shitty 205 and have been fixing it up slowly over the last 4 years. Think that the car's gonna be with you for a while so you can invest some love in to it when it's in your hands.

Do you know what you are looking at mechanically? Or can you tell if something has had a prang or two?
If not, get someone to check a car out for you. Not the RACV. Maybe we can suggest people.

    Thanks Warwick.
Mechnically it's pretty good,185,000 ks with full reciepts since new.
The body is straight, checked the doors, bonnet etc and none of these has been removed to be repaired.
The red paint is a bit faded on the roof and bonnet but it should come up ok with a cut and polish.
    It's Alfapugs.
    Cheers

No strange noises and drives pretty good.

When I pick it up I want to get it serviced and i've seen people mention Robert from citroen brighton which is close to me but I will take any advice!
It's the one Alfapug has been advertising.
    Cheers
