    Default New muffler Italian sounds

After 17 whole years I replaced the rear muffler on the GTI6 with a non original exact copy made in Italy! Car's very quiet driving now but if I give it a good hard squirt and back off the throttle, it rasps like a Fiat! What should I do?New muffler Italian sounds-images-1-.jpg

Nothing wrong there, all my Fiats sound like that. Actually had an Alfa Sud that sounded just as good.
    I guess it's what you're used to😕

Do you think they make one to suit my 605? After 22 years the muffler man is sick of patching it up .

Doubt you would have enough money!

Goodwins at Cessnock put aftermarket rear mufflers on mine about 8 years ago.

What makes you think dhaw is richer than me?

If I want a generic one the local bloke can do it - it will fit about as well the one he fitted to my Xantia (ie NOT)!!

    It's ok - if it's Italian steel you'll need a new one in 12 months anyway !

I only ever replaced the middle muffler on my '6' in 13 years and found the factory one was roughly the same price as aftermarket versions anyway.

Good that you have the choice though. Is it made by 'Ansa' ? I used to put Ansa mufflers on my 124 coupes years ago, but they were allowed to rasp....lol. They were glass fibre packed but the packing usually only lasted a few weeks before it was spat out the back.

    Cheers

Lucky to get 2 years out of an Ansa on the old 124 but it was a great sound....😄
