    Hi All,
New to the forum ...love my two French girls looking forward to being apart of things. Thought I'd attach a link to an old 80s review of the gti and lotus....love how the cars aren't prettied up or even washed for the photos..

There is some lovely expression in this article... "mean, reflective dials" etc. Makes the Aus writers for Wheels and Motor even more embarrassing: "Robbo stood on the picks and the 20inch hoops ground to a stop" etc.

I remember this piece from car magazine very well,
it made me fall in love with the 205 Gti.
alas I had to wait until 2007 to actually own one...

    Hi Craig,
I'll put some picks up when I get it back. Has a tidy interior needs paint, it's pretty solid.
Bought it site unseen from a guy in Ballarat, needs a clutch, belt, water pump, driveshafts, engine mounts etc.. basically all new rubbers. It was in storage for seven years forking out a bit for the work but I love it! Only had it about 6weeks so far.
    Thanks for the welcome!
    Christian

    Hi lozenge
I would have been very lucky to have gotten that magazine over here in oz. They were really expensive to buy as usually air freighted from he U.K.

    Hi Christian,
Great to hear your saving an old lost project car. I'm sure it will appreciate the love.
Looking forward to seeing it. I'm working on a white S1 GTI that was a long lost project of at least two previous owners.
    cheers
    Craig

Hi Christian, a few of us thought about buying your car, including me. You were very decisive in buying it quickly, well done - that's the way to do it. Sounds like it is in the right hands and totally worth spending the $$ on.
