    Gday everyone,

    Hi

i have just been flicking through the latest Blaupunkt catalogue and they have adapter modules available for thier headunits that can utilise the control stalk

they have some pretty nice head units, including one which is an 8 watt car phone with built in SIM card slot

    Hi Tim,

I have a '00 206 GTi that I have done an extensive ICE upgrade on. I chose a Blaupunkt headunit (Madrid C72) as Blaupunkt was the only brand in OZ able to supply the necessary interface cable for the steering column remote.

You will find pics of my car in the photos section of the 206GTi.net Yahoo! discussion group. If you aren't already a member you will need to join to get access to the photos/files sections.

Look under SimonM/Kermit/ICE for the pics. If you need anymore info re: upgrading feel free to drop me a line. I don't visit AussieFrogs much so it is best to contact me through 206GTi.net.
    Cheers Simon

You can try this little unit,

    http://www.pac-audio.com/products/swi.htm

Alternatively there are IR units that hook up to your existing controls and the IR LED is installed somewhere else facing the radio (usually in the overhead light fitting) giving you the full use of the buttons.

Have a chat to some specialist stores (no, not the Strathfield Car Radio's etc).

Your lucky you dont have a Multiplexed 206 - It makes it really hard to replace the stereo as you loose the display in the cluster on top of the dash I thought about replacing the headunit but didnt want to loose that.

    Thanx Everyone,

I think I will look into the Blaupunkt head decks, i guess i don't have much of a choice anyways.
Anyone know a good blaupunkt dealer with good prices? I looked at the website, and I think I may try autojoy in Parra.
