Default Peugeot 407 SW Timing Belt - V6 Petrol

When I enquired of Bayford Peugeot regarding the Timing Belt on a V6 engine for my car, recently purchased, and who have previously serviced the vehicle, I was informed that the requirement is every 180,000 Km. or nine years, whichever comes first. The service book says every 120,00 or six years, so this came as a surprise, especially to find it therefore needs doing straight away. Ther odometer reads 173,000 but time-wise I am over by 7 months. Any comment ?

If in any doubt, replace. A heck of a lot cheaper than bent valves.
