According to Peugeot, the 80 000km service is a "C" service - a "major major" service if you like.

The belt is quoted at $450 incl fitting, and the "C" Service $575
    That makes $1025

Paul Vasallo told me to expect around $1000 for mine when he does it for me... mine's up to around 70 000km now.

    Derek.

that $450 would be including the serpentine belt as well i'd say as they tend to replace that at the same time

the water pump should only be replaced IF it is weeping/leaking or seems sus, other than that they will last till the next belt change

takes a lot more than 80k for a water pump to wear out especially if the coolant is kept clean and changed when needed and is the correct fluid for the car

when i sold my old Mi-16 with just over 200k on it, it still had the original water pump and wasn't loosing any coolant

i still run the original water pump in the GTi-6 after it's first belt change

do not be conned into changing a water pump unless it needs it

you may need an idler though as these only have pre-packed bearings in them but then most dealers don't even keep these in stock so they even last pretty well
