    hi all

im installing a system in my 94 306 xt and everything is ok exept i cant find a way of running the amp's power wire from the battery to the boot. once i get it through the firewall its all good, but thats where the problem lies. i spent 3 hours atempting yesterday, with no success. has anyone done this before without removing the whole dash?

any info would be greatly apreciated.

Can't find a hole through the firewall? I've heard of people drilling a hole through the firewall and putting the wire through there with a rubber grommet.

i'll check mine later but from memory i actually went through a gap near the guard and into the car and then under the carpet through to the back of the car and then used the bumper mount for an earth

it was pretty easy to do and i didn't have to drill a hole anywhere

i hate drilling holes in cars and will go to extremes to avoid doing so

I had the same problem man, I didnít want to drill through the fire wall. So what I did was put the wiring through a in gap the door & hid it between a gap between the front left quarter panel & the firewall. I then ran the wiring straight to the battery. I havenít had a problem since. I know it seems a shortcut/dodgy way of doing it but itís worked very well for me.

I can elaborate further if you like?

    Where did you earth it?

I'm getting amp installed next week, so if there's going to be any problems it would be good to have some detailed advice on how to solve it.

Ian, don't worry too much. Chris has worked on 306s before.

No, we're talking about Chris Rogers from performanceforums who is doing some audio work on our cars next week. Chris S16 got a new job a while back and hasn't had much time come on line. He didn't have a computer, so occasionally gets on at internet cafes.

I'm feeling confident with the audio install. Can't really go any worse than last time.

Maybe someone with Chris S16's number could let him know about the next Sydney meet. I know last tiem I saw him he said he'd on;y found out by an sms.
