    Default 306 mods?

    Hey there,

Just wondering if anyone knows how strong the 306XSi internals are and if they would handle a low boost turbo setup?

I read somewhere about someone transplanting a 3L v6 into a 306. Has anyone done this? or know how hard the conversion is?

I'm looking at purchasing a 306, but want to find out the potential they have before comitting to anything.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Welcome to

There aren't many people that have turboed or completed a major engine conversion on AF. turbopeugeot306 has spent a decent amount of money, and his car appears to be off the road a fair bit. I would think this is more due to the skills available to him in Adelaide, ie, the level of experience in modifying Peugeots, more than the car itself.

There are a few members here who have heavily tuned their NA cars, quite successfully, though.

If you're after trubo advise, however, I'd suggest that some of the UK Forums might serve you better.

The XSi is a sweet car on it's own, fit an LSD and some good tyres and you've got a very decent car on the twisties. Not sure to what end you are searching for with modifying one. Care to elaborate?

Get some good tyres, and an LSD as was stated above. Then get some nuts cams, big compression, unichip, and you'll be set. Cheaper, easier (car will spend far less time off the road), and more fun than a turbo.
