I fitted an led strip across the back of our 307 wagon ,it is an improvement ,but seems to light the ground ,behind the car rather than out ,also ground one of the pins off an led stop /park globe ,fitted that in place of the single filament reverse globe ,was an improvement ,pugs ,307 has only one reverse light ,hopeless in our rural setting .

I know it's a different car but this was my solution for rubbish reverse lights on my old 405. A rear mount driving light.

Be careful doing this sort of stuff. Cops can come down on you hard. I saw a car in Brisbane (a large 4wd) defected by the police for having a rear mounted spot light that came on when put into reverse (it was in a maccas car park). Maybe a manual switch is a better option.

Mine had a manual overide to switch it off. But only came on when in reverse.

I would have thought that a manually operated light could be inadvertently left on or used to deter tailgaters ,least a gear operated one is only going to come on when reversing ,pugs ,

Just make sure you run a new / separate earth wire to the chassis if you connect an additional lamp (or even fit a higher wattage globe) to a 407 wagon. The earth pins in the tail lamp clusters are notoriously thin and burn out quite quickly.

    Cheers

I found LED's can improve rear visions on some cars. This site sells a few varying bulbs, and in the reverse light spot I wound't think they'd throw up any fault codes (for inactive bulbs).

Cav91: Love your Mi16 - same colour as my old one and I also had that middle reflector panel between the lights. Brilliant vehicle.
