Default Popping a 407 station wagon hatch

Help! I cant open the hatch on my 407 station wagon. I can open the glass section but not the lower metal section. I read on a UK forum that it could be a broken wire in a loom running down the left side of the hatch and that it can be popped open from the inside by inserting something small in a small hole on the left of the latch but i cant seem to see the hole. Any ideas before i go off to the dealer and get reamed?
    Regards
    Rob

Are you clicking the 0 in the middle of the 4 0 7 badge?

    Hi there

On the 407 and 607 (and possibly others) to open the boot / trunk you press the button which is disguised in the middle number, which is the 0 (zero).

You probably already know this, but some people don't realise. It's kind of clever.

This is confusing. If the door has to be "emergency" unlocked from the inside, there is a hole in the top left corner of the catch for a small screwdriver. From outside, use the button in the digit.

Not on the hatch of the wagon. It has a "traditional" rubber button - which has probably failed and needs replacing.

Although, if the rear glass is not in the latched position, the hatch button also probably doesn't work.

Thanks so much guys. I will have another go at locating the hole in the latch to pop it from the inside. The rear glass is definitely latched. I never knew about pressing the 0 - quite clever but my model doesnt have it

On my daughter's 307 hatch which may have the same latch there is a knack to opening it. As you depress the button you also push down on it somehow and it magically opens. unless you work it out you won't open it. Must be a coded anti theft device.

Sorry for the misinformation - Thought the estate had it too.
