    Default ignition coils

For the third time in the last 2 1/2 years one of my iginition coils (s16/mi 16) has shit itself, this really is pathetic. I've changed numbers 2,3 & 4, bet this is no 1; if it's not what does it say for oem peugeot parts. Is there any aftermarket part that would do the job better than these weak POS.

Does the gti6 have anything stronger? I know that the engine is totally different just getting to the end of my teather!

    Any help would be appreciated.

Ps. Would anyone know who could do it on the cheap, usually get her serviced at citroen brighton (ex straightway peugeot)

    Hi s16,

I've mounted VT Commodore coils ($100 each) on a rack, bolted to the firewall on the 405.

Plenty of airflow & no failures (yet).

PS. My GTi6 coil packs are orig, & have lasted 5 1/2 years so far...

    Thanks Jeff,

Thats one tuff looking engine, as for the commodore coils i guess that id have to do all four and mount them on the firewall rather then just use one to replace the faulty one that i have eh?

If that is the case i may as well just replace mine with the genuine part, if it is the one that i havent yet replaced i wont be that angry, but if it is, whoa.

hyundi make a quad pack. Mount it on the firewall or on a strut brace.

surely those conformabore coils could be picked up cheap s/h from a holden wrecker for a cheap way out and would hopefully last longer away from the heat and vibration.
