Yes I was concerned about the cage Re Roady, however it is fully legal in Vic at the very lest (and vic seems to be the strictest) due to its age, but yes will be re complied as a two seater.

Yup, just a greenhouse, i cut a hole in one end and had a blower to keep ventilation, my workshop is old and dusty, as well as being on a gravel driveway so contamination was almost impossible to 100% prevent but it did a pretty good job, luckily 205's are nice and small!

I have curtain rods attached to ceiling around the inside perimeter of the garage and plastic curtains will hang from them when the time comes for that reason

Yup, care of Huw, Engine, box and Exhort.
Having my Headers Ceramic coated and some heat/sound insulation to put in then installation will commence.

    Well so far....
It's running B6 Billies all round, Eibach springs in the front, I'v done all the mounts and bushes front and rear, all poly's, will look at bars soon.
It's got 306 rear disks with I guess a little extra track thanks to PGTI6, and i'v mounted 406 Coupe 4pots up front.
The lump is obviously a J4RS, rebuilt top and bottom, balanced rotating assembly, stage 1 regrind cams, ITB's and a Haltech PS2000. I'v got a TTV flywheel in there, gearbox is-
The ratios are (Gti 1st-4th, Mi16 5th, Mi16 Final Drive)
    1st: 2.92
    2nd: 1.85
    3rd: 1.36
    4th: 1.07
    5th: 0.76
    FD: 4.4
    I'v also got a 3J LSD set to 40/90 30Nm

    Awesome!

We are running a similar engine without the throttle bodies at the moment so will be interesting to see what its goes like!

What throttle bodies did you go with?

Spent the long weekend sorting out something I had been putting off since the start, the bloody wiring in this car was a mess, having already had one engine/management swap plus all the options there was a heap to go though.
I removed all the stereo, central locking, rear wiper, a.c., heater system, interior lighting from the looms, the re wrapped and tucked up neatly. There was a heap of wires running from nowhere to nowhere also...
This gave me the chance to label everything as I went with a little self adhesive label printer to make everything easier next time I need to get in there.

I then went through and put an much as I could back on the car to assign plugs and direct the looms.

My headers a back and look phenomenal to.

The hoist was busy, so this week it will go back up and I'll drop the front end and engine to put everything together, I will have to plug a few holes in the firewall with the heater gone, and re route the cooling system.

    Pup wasn't much help....

That's a massive 40% jump from 4th to 5th. I'll be keen to hear of your impressions. I personally didn't like the box I built the same.

Just looking at the drivers side intrusion bar, it looks nearly as high as mine, and I can assure you it will be painful to get in and out of.

I'm not sure what to expect with a lot of this car, and things will change as i get to know it, and learn what i want out of it, a tall 5th will be nice to keep it sedate at cruising, but I guess i'll see when shes running

    Are you sure it's 40%?

The driveline was chosen for a street car that will see club motorsport use. I doubt Cal will need more than the 172km/h 4th gear will give him on a 195/50R15 tyre at 7500 redline.

I've got the same, OK for cruising and if the event has twisty roads. The event I'm doing on the weekend is the first round of the ARC and has very fast roads so the gap will be an annoyance.
Also, after giving the car (205) a safety upgrade, seats and belts, I longer want to drive it on the road, so it would be better with the full GTi ratios. The 309 has these, the car should be sorted and usable for the second half of the year.
I took the stock Si on an event in NSW on the weekend, long distance touring with a few short special stages, got some top 3 times on the stages and was placed 3rd outright, all in comfort, so any part touring or navigational events are likely to be in this car!

I also fitted intrusions bars today, run above the door pockets and below the armrest, not bad at all to get in and out.
