Default How hard can it be?

A niggling thought is buzzing in my head (amongst all the voices) and doesn't let me sleep.

How hard is it to convert a RHD Mi16 to LHD? I mean is the firewall the same, or did they use a different pressing?

I know the 205GTI is different, so converting one would be quite an exercise.

Anyone here who might have dismantled a Mi16 to such depth that they can pronounce?

I'm curious. what's your motivation in wanting to go to LHD?

A niggling thought, like I said. The possibility of exporting one to a country where they got it wrong with the combination of driving side, seasons and sundry legislation.

It's no big deal. My Mi16x4 was originally LHD.

Yeah, but if the firewall does not allow for a simple bolt and play conversion (parts are not the problem) then I wouldn't do it.

Funny you mention that. I have found a nice diesel wagon and a nice Mi16x4 for sale not that far from each other and both LHD which gave me some other ideas. All bad, I am sure.

Pictures of your projected misdeeds, would be expected.

605 and XM are much easier to swap about, there are only small differences in the scuttle bracketry for wipers and trim mounting.

    Silence, you sirens of doom!

Yeah, but by the time you finish such a herculean undertaking, you still end up with something that will be monstered by the many Audis, Volvos (not talking SUV) about or the old Blitzen or Stagea (talking all wagons, hence no Imprezas or Evos).

At least that's what I tell people with such ideas.
