    Default 407 v6 coil pack

G'day, the black beast showed an engine warning light, subsequent testing points to the #5 coil being on the fritz.
I think it reasonably safe to say that French automotive electronics are somewhat suspect and because #5 coil is at the back of the engine, prudence would suggest to change all three of the back coils as it's a cow of a job and who knows when one of the others is going to fail.

Apart from Valeo coil packs are there any other recommended brands eg. I see that NGK make one that on their website is ES9 compatible. Given that everyone loves NGK spark plugs is there any feedback available on NGK coil packs. The NGK coil is part # U5008.

I am aware that if I were to go NGK then all six would need to be changed.
    Thanks all

I had to do this on my 406 - managed to break the top connector off the degassing chamber (roughly above the clutch) while removing the manifold .

Recommend replacing plugs (with Iridium/Platinum ones) at the same time.

    Cheers

Don't know about others, but I have seen many recommendations for Delphi coils.
