My power steering ram is leaking fluid and I'm told Peugeot no longer make the part. The Vic wreckers are closed. P504 say no go. Any one have a power steering ram for a GTI6 lying around? The part is different from other 306 models. What's a pug driver to do?

Thanks. I called him but no go...... Car can still be driven, the ram is slowly weeping fluid but long term I need a fix.

When it is installed I will try and find an Australian hydraulic reconditioner and get the original repaired. GTI6 rams can't be reconditioned. They are sealed when made by rolling the cover over the end. Anyone know if there is a possibility of a standard 306 steering ram being converted to GTI6 car?
I am sure a threaded sleeve can be brazed onto the ram's outer jacket end after the roll-over is turned off. Then you could look at something like a motorbike fork seal or machinery ram seal.
According to Service Box all power steer N5 racks use the same ram P/N 4011 44.Quote:

I'd be curious as to why, given the chassis is the same apart from some stiffer springs I thought? Surely the stunted turning circle on the GTi6 is achieved via stoppers somewhere and not a completely different ram.

Then why would eBay seller selling 306 rams tell me they won't work for a GTI6? And why would Peugeot in France make a separate ram and then discontinue it? Someone on Aussiefrogs will know all this.:crazy:Quote:
