    Default 505 bottom radiator hose

My son and family has just got to Tasmania for a holiday and has a split bottom radiator hose on his 505GTI. He is at Arthur River, a bit remote, but has got in contact with RACV equivalent. They will pick up the car and family on Saturday (river cruise booked for tomorrow). Is there a fairly universal hose that can be used given that getting a real one is a remote option.

    Thanks

    Glenn

    Hi Glenn

That's a bit of bad luck, I've been told that the radiator hose of a ford 2.2 econovan diesel part number CH 1727, will fit but I've not tried it, failing that, I'm sure I would have a second hand one that would get him out of trouble, but I'm in Devonport, so would have to work out how to get it to him, let me know if I can help.

Thanks Neil I have passed that info on to Tim and maybe the RACV guy, who appears very helpful, might look at the Ford option. I will let you know if we need to chase the second hand option.

    Hi Glen

Now I think about it, the Ford option may not be that good, even it does fit, as it may not be any more readily than a Peugeot one, Which way was Tim heading after leaving Arthur River? If you like you can give Tim my contact details which I will send to you in a PM.

I would have a second hand one but getting it up there would be a logistical problem

They are on the road again - I am not sure how that has been achieved but thanks Neil and Bob.

    Hi Glenn

I got a text from Tim this afternoon to say that the RACT guy had managed to find a hose to fit, which was great news, hope they can now go on to enjoy the rest of their holiday in Tassie, always glad to be of help.

    Regards
    Neil
