Default comm 2000 replacement. Keys recoding needed?

Just wanted to check before I do something I may regret.

I bought a used comm2000 unit from a wrecker today to fix my dodgy indicator/auto-headlight problem.

When I install it, do I need to recode the key to the immobiliser?

Nothing I have found online suggests this is required, but thought I should check as the coil that activates the key immobiliser chip connects to the comm2000.

It is a delphi unit, peugot 206 GTi 2003 3 door with foglights. Unit came out a 206 4door non GTi also with foglights.

Hi .. i just had the same problem .. auto lights turning off indicators . Put 2nd hand comm unit on . Now all fixed .. starts fine everything works . You shouldn't have a problem . Just make sure you push on and clip in the airbag clips properly . My airbag light went out by itself after all wires were clipped in .

Put in the used unit. So far, all seems good.

First time I removed the original comm2000 to clean the contacts, I failed to get one of the airbag connectors properly plugged in, so I am more careful now. Easier job than expected.
