    Default Chasing 504 coolant hoses

    Hi all

For a while now I have been chasing 504 (1972 2 litre petrol) coolant hoses. Top and bottom radiator hoses are easy to get, but it's the heater hoses plus the hoses to the inlet manifold and Solex carby that I am chasing. (6 hoses in total)

Anyone know a good source of original style/shape hoses (genuine or non-genuine)?

    Thanks heaps

Have a search Mackay "hoseweb" and "classic". There are diameters and dimensions in the catalogues. Sometimes you can cut two hoses and join with a piece of copper tube to make up what you want.

The first two items on the left in this link.

Thanks Robmac, that is my absolute last option. Would rather the correct shaped hoses.

    Cheers

I've always found something in the catalog which is close enough. Have you actually looked there are a huge range of preformed hoses shown with diameters and sizes listed.

The only one that is hard to find is one at the base of carby with the large bell.

I replaced all the smaller hoses on my DS23 some years ago. I have also done this for our Cit BX valver.
If you take your original hoses to your Autobarn, Repco or similar spare parts joint you can get common ( eg. Ford, GMH...) heater hoses that will have similar shape to what you want , you might have to cut to size. Remember you can twist curved heater hose and it will not kink, but you cannot bend it. I don't even bother chasing up OEM hoses. It has worked for me.

I've got a brand new alloy T piece, two small hoses to one side, bigger in and out.
This is fitted on the RHS of the engine bay into the heater hose.
May have some hoses. Also got a kit or two for the early Solex.
