    Default 406 Coupe in WA

Hello all, it's been a while. My wife bought me this:

Always wanted one. Gorgeous, and reasonably quick.

    Good wife!

Are there any other Western Australian 406 Coupe owners on the forums?

    Cheers,
    John.

    Welcome John
They're a great car to drive (and to park and stare at). The UK Couple Club site is a great repository of information, parts locator and general helpful hints. 406 Coupe Owners Club

    Enjoy.

    Hi John,
I'm in Perth and I have a 2002 manual coupe.
Unfortunately it doesn't get used very much and I am thinking of selling it.
    It's silver in colour.
Second one I have owned - the first one was a 1998 and blue in colour.
    cheers

I passed a link for your post onto my wife. She doesn't seem greatly inclined to copy yours. It could be, of course, that the current paint job on the 1951 Renault costs more than a 406 coupe these days.....

They're lovely cars I reckon. The 406 coupe, I mean.

Perhaps we could meet at the 2016 FCD and discuss?

G'day all, thanks for the kind comments. Roland, I think we've met, and Johnw, you gave me some help with my Xantia if I recall. This car was a show car (had a $10k sound system) and then got essentially parked up for the past three years. Consequently the paint is outstanding, and the overall condition is very good. The power steering hoses have a few leaks, and there's an engine oil leak as well - I think a tappet cover gasket. But it's an auto, and I would like to change that! If anyone comes across a manual sedan as a donor, please let me know. One question, do I need a V6 donor car?

    Hi John!

A nice car you've got there. Should be an absolute blast! Keep Michael away from it though...

The V6 has different gearboxes to the BE3s, and you'll likely want all the accessories from a manual shell. Demanu has a thread somewhere on the forum outlining the conversion. That means finding a 406 V6 manual somewhere.

The 504 is enjoying the 16 inch rims, and the 306 is just today getting the gearbox out of Michael's old 205. This summer has been great so far with it's fairly mild weather allowing work!

    Cheers,
    Fed
