There's no mention of it having sold.

What about the cost. Mate of mine got less than $5.00 for cleaned out 7 Series BMW body (300 odd kg - fully stripped, no doors or bonnet).

If you take it to Council transfer station, they charge you around $12.00 per 100 kg in Brisbane. Mate was told by the scrap metal merchant that they are likely to stop buying scrap shortly due to lack of demand for steel. Never mind the time and effort to load and transport them. I can see lots of $$$$$$$$ for the clean up.

I suspect it's too late for lot of the many of the car bodies, it appears many of them have been rotting away for a loong time.
Any day I wake up and don't have to go to work, is a good day

Refer to my previous thread here in the froggy chat area

A visit to French car wrecking outside Toowoomba in Queensland

I rang for Barry yesterday to find out what happened at the auction, but he has not got back to me yet.

I am confident it was either withdrawn from offering, or passed in. The agent has other, more recent, sales logged on property sites.

Good question. I guess the stress of something like this would not be too good for a guy like him.

I heard a couple of years ago that his wife had cancer, but haven't heard what eventuated.

Barry is Barry, nothing has changed. Property was passed in.
