Brake booster for 403

Should I fit an after market brake booster to my 403 or a used 404 booster ?
Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

I just fitted a VH 44 equivalent from ebay to my 404. It came with a kit and cost approx $170 delivered. Very happy with it. Looks well made and everything in the kit plus more.
Are parts available for a 404 one ?

I'd fit a VH 44 - purpose built for drum brakes.

The 404 booster will over boost the brakes. IMO even the 404 is a bit over boosted, drum brakes with a 404 booster will be far too sensitive.

Interesting to fit a servo, but from where do you plan to get the vacuum source from? planning to drill thru the rocker cover to access the carby manifold? or are there any other sources?

An alternator from a diesel with a vac pump on the back ,possibly .pugs

Easiest way is to bronze or silver solder a fitting into the induction cover plate.
