    HI

I have just very easily got a new one for my 404 restoration - virtually off the shelf. It was ordered and a couple of days the guy turned up and fitted it ( Melbourne )

I was curious at the miracle and asked him how. Was told that they come from China originally and that the supplier has a central database of patterns for just about everything and just needs a day or two to form or adapt to spec.

Would expect that if they can do a 404 they should be able to manage a 505 , but my ignorance may be showing

A melbourne guy will be no direct use to you , but his central supplier may well be

Contact is: Ben's windscreens; 0429144342. May be worth picking his brains

    Best Wishes

Had one fitted to my 505 last year by Forrest Windscreens, Stead Rd. Albany, Tel. 08 9842 2444.
    Cost from memory about $150.

From (increasingly fallible ) memory $220.00 fitted

He did a good job of fitting, but had to work a bit to get it right, so you may need somebody with the skills to be flexible.

I had already supplied the rubbers ( from Der Franzose )

Not sure whether the fit issue was screen or rubbers

Has done 3000 miles, including rain, without leaking
