    Default 505 rocker cover seals

    Hi Folks,

I just wanted to pass on a tip on how to solve the common problem of oil leaks from rocker cover seals fitted to the thee studs that are used to bolt down the rocker cover on the 505 2.2 L/t motors, because my experience has been that the recommended fibre washers are largely ineffective. The solution is to drill out the holes in the rocker cover to 11.5 mm and fit Subaru seals part No GSPA 761/9D, although they are more expensive, they are far superior and seal completely. Please note that the part number that I gave you is for Durapro brand seals, not a Subaru number.

Soak fibre washers in water first before fitting. This way they will mould and seal better.
    Same applies for sump gaskets
