Default How to get the trip computer screen back 2007 T6 HDi auto

When we bought our 2007 T6 HDi auto the default centre screen was the trip computer screen. Since replacing the battery it is now the radio screen and I can't see how to get the trip computer screen back in either the owners handbook or the Haynes manual. I can toggle to it with the button on the end of the stalk but it reverts after a few seconds. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Hugh.

Try holding that button in the end of the stalk for a few seconds. This will reset the trip computer. Worth a try

Press the 'mode' button on your stereo, if you still have the stock RD4 fitted.

Thanks for your replies. It doesn't seem to make any difference how long you press the button on the end of the stalk, the trip computer screen only appears when the button is released.

Yes the "mode" button on the stereo gets you into the configuration menus but I can't find one that will set the trip computer screen as the default screen.
    Thanks,
    Hugh

do you have the owners manual? The answer is in there.

If you don't have a manual, post here and I will look it up for you in mine.

It is definitely the mode button, I have done the same thing myself, but there is a trick to it and I don't remember the trick.

Thanks Chris, I do have the owners manual and have been unable to find the trick. Now that you have told me there is one I will go back and have an extra diligent read. Wish me luck.

The "menu" button gets you into the configuration menus. It's on the right.

The "mode" button is not the same button and is in fact the one that will get you your trip computer screen. It's on the left.

Thanks Simon. I didn't pay enough attention to the difference between Menu and Mode. I can now go and finalise the dressings to my bleeding forehead from the perceived brick wall.
