    Very positive review (especially from an Aussie car mag) and looks great. Looking forward to its release next year.

    Frankly I think it looks a bit boring and generic.

    I'm a self confessed Peugeot fanatic, but I think their recent styling direction is a vast improvement over the last 10 years or so. Each to their own of course.

    I'm more excited about the way it'll drive

    Just the thread I was looking for. My initial impression is that it's overpriced and under equipped. Getting 270BHP out of a 1.6 is a feat, but no DSG/seq gearbox option, no extras (adaptive CC, emergency EB etc.).

    I feel it's a let down, they could have tried just a little harder (about 5k less, more options) and had a proper Golf competitor.

    Less driver aids sounds good to me, that means a more involving drive.

    I would like one of these new base model 1.2 litre 208s but with even more stuff stripped out and turbo added.

    Even Clarkson who dislikes Froggies seemed to like this car.....however he said it is still no match for the Golf :{

    Hi Everyone,

    New to the forum and have my eye on the new Gti but not to sure about the 1.6 engine. Seen a couple of comments on the forum and best to avoid if possible, but I'm guessing might be different in this case.

    Driven the Focus ST and the Golf GTI but keen for something a bit different and unique, but not to sure about reliability and build quality.

    The 308 R Hybrid looks like PSA can do great cars. But at an estimated 70-80k it's a lot of coin!!

    Still, one next to my GTi6 would look nice

    Agreed. First hybrid I have been mildly interested in. Looks great.

    I like the 308 race car they did also (just needs two doors).
