    Default 504/406 engine swap

    hello,

I've been lurking through these threads for a while and finally decided to post!

I own a 1973 peugeot 504 gl and was toying with the idea of putting a 3l 406 engine into it, i was wondering if there is anything specifically difficult with this swap. Or if there are similar swaps that produce the same amount of power (180-200 hp).

    Regards,
    The swap

Love the idea. Always wanted to do the same thing with a 505.

Sorry I can't help, but best of luck with the conversion.

Not sure how you'll work the gearbox out. I'd be more inclined to put a hot PRV into it or something.

Nice idea, hard part will be mounting to the 504 RWD gearbox, like selekta said, but with engineering anything can be done, if your planning to replace box, shaft, diff etc, I'll let somebody else tell you how easy that is.

Just buy a 406 V6, superior car to a 504 and for virtually no money.

That's a beautiful vehicle! And so rare, almost seems a shame to change the engine.
