Default BE1 end cover & filler

    Hi all, two questions:

Q1. believe that the 19mm head bolt in the BE1 end cover (in passenger side wheel
Arch) is the filler hole for the BE1. Can I instead remove the plastic 'bung' which is on top of the box to put 2L of oil in using a funnel
    Instead?

Q2. If I removed all the bolts of the end cover of the BE1 (accessed through the passenger side wheel arch), what is under there? Is there gearbox oil in there or is it just a cover plate? Reason I aske is that the seal around all the bolts looks wet/damp and wondering if it needs re-sealing.

    Let me know,
    Geoff
