    Default 307 diesel service

    G'day all,
    I am receiving conflicting information, my usual mechanic said - its diesel - service it every 20,000kms, another Peugeot expert (3rd Party Peugeot service) said 20k too, Melbourne Bayford Peugeot said 10,000kms and they service only Peugeots.

    Thing is - I do 1300kms a week average for work, hence it would need service every 2 months - that guy gave me a weird look that I do 1300k a week this morning when I brought it in for a service.

    How long will you realistically keep it? What sort of roads are those 1300km on? Is it over-insured with a non-specialty insurer?

    I'd go the Renault diesel service interval route and do it every 15,000 km.
    Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............

    20,000 km is roughly every 3 months, and a minor service is mainly an oil and filter change. Why not do these easy ones yourself? You only need a set of ramps, the right oil and filter, and a few tools. That engine is in Cits too, and they don't recommend 10,000 km.

    You have a turbo that won't be fond of stuffed up oil, so don't neglect it.

    At that rate it won't be long before you need major services and brakes etc, so leave these big ones to the pros.

    The 'schedule' says get a service every 10,000kms but be mindful that some services, the "Intermediate", are only a visual inspection and fluid 'top up' (not changed);

    Personally, I'd go an oil n filter change EVERY time

    Are all the mechanics quoting on equivalent oil? If you have a Series I (T5) 307, then mineral oil may be acceptable (no particle filter to poison) but would need changing more often.

    Usually I do service at between "minor service" ie. halfway service then yep. Its an T6 diesel.
    I may do that do 10k service and minor service at the dealer at 20k.
    Cheers & thanks for the feedback.

    Peugeot Australia only ever mandated a 20k/12mth service interval for the oil and filter.

    The "intermediate service" at 10k/6mth on these is simply a check of fluid levels.

    With your weekly km, an oil and filter change every 15 weeks (approx 20k) is more than enough, in my opinion, so long as you use the correct oil.

    Bear in mind, these 2L HDi have 'oil dilution' issues (as per an experienced Pug Tech in Dubbo). Due to this, I'll happily grab the 5W30 oil wholesale to lessen the cost of my OCD ways and change every 10K kms!
