    Default New 207 GT Owner

Hi all, thought i might introduce myself to the forum. A couple of months ago I went out and bought myself a '07 207 GT in Bianca white. Growing up I was always a fan of the 306, in which i loved the styling, and of course the more rarer 205. When shopping for a hot hatch I just couldn't go past the car considering the bang for your buck (which I can thank the amazing depreciation for). Comparing it to other cars of the same class how could I go past something with such great style and features, for more than a few grand less than some of the other hot hatches.

Anyway, other than recently spraying the wheels black, I haven't done anything else to the car whatsoever. So in that respect I have a few questions!

    1. Does anyone know of any reputable sites (here or abroad), where I might try my luck in finding spare/aftermarket parts for my pug? For example headlights, since the ones on it at the moment have really copped a beating from the sun. I was considering aftermarkets in this case. I found some styles I liked from here (Dectane DAYLINE Headlights Peugeot 207 06+ _ drl-optic | Pitlane Tuning).

    2. Has anyone had any exhaust work done in the Melbourne area and can recommended a good shop?

    3. Can anybody recommend a shop for tuning/ecu upgrades in the Melbourne area? I want to get a little bit more power out of the car.

Any help will be much appreciated and hopefully I see you all around the forums

    G'day rohante,
welcome to Aussiefrogs. Sometimes the answers are a bit slow coming, but they will come. How about some pics of your 207 ?
    regards,

these two showing off the spray job i did on the rims recently.

I won't show the front end atm as the old man decided it would be good fun to see how the plastic held up against a roo. amazingly there wasn't too much damage but it's going into the body shop sometime this week. Had already gone in but was sent back after a part that they needed wasn't available, and was going to take at least 2 weeks from France. That's what I get for buying a pug!

    G'day,
there is a list of wreckers somewhere on this site, and, undoubtedly you will find some more locally. They will be your friends.

Welcome and congrats. A quick google search for "207 forums" showed that there are a few out there that could help with finding parts. Probably a good starting point such as....

    Peugeot 207 forum Peugeot Central

It's a uk site but I've sourced quite a few things for my pugs from o/s with no hassles. Good luck. Don't forget ebay either.

    Quick question!

Has anyone had dealings with vtech Australia? v-tech-australia
They are licensed reps for e-tuners and since I'm in the market to get a ecu remap done I was hoping someone could shed some light on this company or others? In the Melbourne area.

    cheers!

EDIT: Not to worry they have stepped aside from the tuning of euros now. Does anyone have any idea where i should turn to?

    Go directly to the source.

Salex can be contacted at [email protected] - He knows everything that you need to know about tuning 207s. Tell him you have a THP150 and go from there.

From my understanding he can send you everything you need with regards to remapping.

He used to be very active on the 207 Owners Club but that forum collapsed recently.

207info.com is an alternative forum, but it's not got the history that the other one used to, sadly.

Hi and Congratulations on catching the Pug Bug...I also own a 207GT, have previously owned a 206GTi and a 205GTi...the 207 is by far the most refined and has the potential to produce some respectable power with minimal mods.

Surprised to hear that V-Tech can't help you...try going direct to E-Tuners in Greece as that's where V-Tech would be getting the software from.

    E-tuners :: Welcome

As for exhaust...if you have the money, go for a SuperSprint full set up out of Italy. Looking around $3500 for the full plumbing or, keep you factory system and fit their hi-flow cat for about $1850...this guy here can sort you out...he also does Milltek, etc.

    Euro Exhausts - Home

For replacement parts (Genuine Peugeot) I can't recommend these guys enough...they recently helped me source a gear selector for my 207GT which was impossible to find here...brand new genuine part, delivered to my door at a very reasonable price.

Peugeot Spare Parts | Peugeot Car Spares for all Peugeot Models | Includes Peugeot Accessories and Peugeot Merchandise

Also, because the 1.6 THP "Prince" engine is shared by the Mini, there's a few aftermarket parts available out of the US (where Mini's are popular but Peugeot is unheard of)...I'm just about to fit a cold air intake and turbo hard pipes from Forge Motorsport, bought through Amber Performance in the UK.

E-bay UK is good for Pug bits, but the 207 wasn't a big seller, so bits are hard to find for them...I've been considering these headlight replacements from Aussie E-bay as mine are also badly sun damaged on top, but I'm not sure if all factory functions are retained...like the turn lights...anyone know?

Here's some other sites you can find 207 bits on...

Peugeot 207 Roof Spoiler - Sports

Peugeot 207 - car styling, body kit, front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, spoiler, tuning, wing, bumper extension, rear wing, hood, boot, trunk, styling, side skirt, car styling, carbon (can't vouch for this one...Romanian, so...yeah)

Pro Sport - Peugeot 207 Coilovers | Mad Motors

And, finally, here's a decent wrecker in Australia for Euro parts

Hope some of those sites help...

Thanks for all the info Trinity! Definitely going to give those sites a look, very interested in the hi-flow cat.. however trying to justify it to myself (actually no, the missus) is the hard part!

BTW I picked up some headlights from a UK website

AutoArt Headlights Peugeot 207 | Demon Tweeks

along with some mudflaps that I am going to dabble around with to see how they look (also i am sick of how dirty the back gets)

they have just been dispatched so should have them sometime next week, along with my car which is getting fixed up at the body shop

    G'day,
I notice that he lists all the Peugeots as rear wheel drive and the 206 appears to have a twin spark Alfa engine.

A business who have taken great delight in saying sorry, they couldn't help, on more than one occasion. Lost me forever with their "couldn't give a rat's" attitude.

Yeah, they're not the best...I get most of my parts from the UK as Pug wreckers are thin on the ground in SA. Used to have no worries sourcing parts in Oz with the 205 or 206, but the 207 is a rarer bird so need to go OS

Nice choice on the lights, they look close to original...I ended up buying a Mothers headlight restoration kit, but not entirely satisfied with results yet.

Still waiting on my Forge Cold Air Intake and Hard Turbo Pipes, will post pics of fitting when they arrive.

Turns out my lights are too damaged to get back to the finish I want, so I'm looking to replace. Please let me know how your new ones work out...do they still have the side light that comes on while cornering? Do they BMW style 'halo' rings...it's hard to tell from the webpage.

    Hey rohante,

I've been in touch with Michael from V-Tech in Melbourne over the last few months and they DEFINITELY still do euro cars and are the Australian dealer for E-Tuners. I'm also in touch with Stelios from E-Tuners in Greece, he is the godfather of the THP engine...any questions he will answer.

Take a look at the pics I posted of the Forge intake and hard pipes I fitted to my 207 (I started a thread somewhere)...really worth the bucks, getting serious throttle response etc.

I got this reply from Michael when i recently asked

    "Hey Rohan,
Sadly we do not offer tunes for this motor. We are VAG specific on the tuning side now due to this is what we specialise in.
We can offer you various parts and what not but the tuning side is limited to V.A.G vehicles."

BTW. I have my car back all fixed up, and i have a headlight replaced from the body shop ( I gather it must of been cracked on a blind side as i saw no damage to the outside - other than the horrendous yellowing!) I have also received the headlights that I ordered from OS, I will give wiring them up a shot some time this week.

The brand new headlight is for the passenger side if anyone is interested in one, PM me a offer.

OK, that's strange as I'm getting my flash tune from e-tuners through Michael...he does specialise in VW, Audi, Skoda and other cars from the wrong side of Europe, but he is in touch with E-Tuners. If you're asking him for mechanical work, he can't help, but he definitely can with flash tunes.

Or, just go direct to Stelios at E-Tuners...it's about $800 per stage. Just download your .etu file and forward it to Stelios to work his magic.

All that I can think is that he thought I was talking mechanical work. I mean it's an easy dollar to do a flash tune
