Default my Peugeot 206 gti not 180 version

Hey I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I can't find it , :-/

I have a Peugeot 206 gti 2000 model NOT 180 version . and was wondering will the 180 version head and cams fit on my engine running to give me more aggressive power ( little bit I know )
I don't want to run the vvti but just leave it .

Do I need a piggyback ecu or the stock ecu will run the different head and cams ???

What your looking to do is just not even remotely worth the effort involved.

    G'day,
probably better off buying a 180 engine. There are so many differences that the work and cost involved would far outweigh any gains.

the 138 is clearly better than the 180, didn't you see that 205 thread. For the gains in the 180 the 138 was still ranked first given the improvements in race time, even compared to a 205!

I say stick with the 138.

    jokes aside,

Embrace The Ew! - Non-XU/TU Engine Maintenance and Performance Upgrades - 205GTIDrivers.com

read this to get you started some discussion on the 138 vs 180 engine. The standard EW10J4 isn't as bad as you think, you can get greater relative improvements than you can in the S - almost diminishing return it seems on the S. That being said i only skimmed that thread.
