Default Anyone fitted central locking to a 504?

    Hi all

Did a quick search but could not find the answer. I would like to fit central locking to my 504. My main concern is the effort needed to pull up on the door locks which may hinder the actuators. Heavy duty actuators will be needed.

Anyway, just seeing if anyone has done it and any tricks on mounting the actuators.

    Thanks heaps

I've done it. I wrote it up in my blog at the time, not sure if that was the old or new blog! I could repost if it's not there.

I've done it 3 times to 604s which is much the same. Piece of cake worked a treat . One of the easier mods I did to the 604.

Yeah me too, biggest prob was rear doors, had to drill in to Door jam area and b pillar and use grommets etc to get the power to them,

Always useful to check the movement on all the linkages while the door cards are off and perhaps give them a little spray with WD40 or the like.

I have fitted a kit previously to an old range rover, but even though I lubricated the locking mechanisms, one door locking actuator would play up mainly when the car was left out in the sun and the plastic ram of the actuator would bend!

So, I'll pick up a pick from Jaycar this week. Firstly I need to order some door card clips as I know these are brittle and I am guaranteed breaking a few removing the door cards. At the same time as having the door cards off, I will get the windows tinted and add a passenger side mirror. I will also be replacing the rubber weather channel on the drivers door as the rubber is all cracked. Speaking of rubber...I just ordered 14 metres of pinch weld door seal to replace all inner doors. Fun times ahead - but enjoyable.
