That spoiler was a factory option back in the early 205 days.

Yeah thanks guys. I hoping to have it running in the next couple of weeks. After doing some research on the Internet i figured the spoiler is quite rare because i could not find another one.

Congrats Ryan and a warm welcome to you. As a fellow owner, I can say that you are in for one heck of a ride. Plenty of ups and downs with these classics but I will guarantee a smile on your face everytime you drive it. That rear spoiler is extremely rare and quite unique so look after it well. By the photos, it looks like it has been sitting for a while?? Do you know when it ran last??
Great to have a fellow enthusiast on board. Feel free to ask anything.

Well the previous owner had planed to do a resto. So he started with buying a new radiator and then never got around to doing anything else😂. He said it hasn't tick over for about a year....Im thinking more like 2 years. I bought the car for $200 so i figure i cant really lose

    Score!!!

If you take the rear hatch panel off...be careful! remove all the badges which will reveal the clips.

Yep, pretty sure you should be able to hear it (it's reasonably quiet though).

Bargain car. Look forward to seeing it running again.

I have a 92 205gti so slightly different to yours - but when I turn the key I can hear the fuel pump.. but like SilverGTI_6 says, it's fairly quiet so you need to check it in a quiet area, somewhere where there's not much ambient noise.

    Good luck

The pump will only run for 30 seconds or so if the engine does not start, after this time the power is automatically shut off (safety feature). Search the technical section here for "205 fuel pump" you should find quite a bit, or go to Google which will probably redirect you to here.

Hey, everybody needs someone who loves them enough to tell the truth.

The novelty is what makes it seem cool, but that will wear off. It looks gross. The same kind of gross as body kits and disproportionate wings we all know too well. You'll see it when you'll line it up with a "normal" one and see the clean lines.

Agree, and how could it possibly do anything down there out of the airstream?
