    Default bloody 504 mirrors...

i dunno what it is, i must be supremely unlucky.. but in the 4-5 years i have had my car, i have had the drivers side wing mirror knocked off three times (though one of those times i suspect foul play, but i have no evidence)..

surely there must be SOME way of fixing them when the spring or spring clip has broken? has anyone tried? im not that fussed about being able to move it around or how it looks, im happy just to put some stainless screws through it if it will just keep it on and in the right spot..

has anyone had any success in "fixing" a 504 wing mirror? or do i just need to find yet another one to replace it?

    Default bloody 504 mirrors...

I've tried recently with no success. The tongue at one end gets broken and it's also hard to pull the spring on, though I recall I did it my younger days once

I have seen the streamlined Ford Escort mirror on 504s in the past. Probably cuts out the wind noise.

I have some mirrors here including an Escort one so let me know if you're after one

I got some super strength araldite and epoxied the bejeezus out of it. Seems to have worked alright, tho it probably will vibrate like hell because there is no spring to absorb the shock. Ill put it back on today and see how it goes..
