Default 306 manual to automatic question

hi i have a super reliable, 306 XTDT manual but my wife can not drive a manual, i was wondering if the petrol automatic transmission will bolt up to a 1.9 diesel motor? and if the diesel XTDT came out with an auto transmission?

Be easier to replace the wife wouldn't it?

I had a Google and all I can find is manuals. If posts on this forum are anything to go by the AL4 off other models is a bit of a turd, something to keep in mind.

nAH HAD 3 WIVES, THIS ONE IS A KEEPER,

AND IF THE PETROL AUTO FITS THE DIESEL MOTOR ... IT WOULD BE GREAT AS YOU CAN BUY A PETROL 306 FOR LESS THAN $400.... OTHERWISE I MAY HAVE TO TRY A DIFFERENT FLAVOUR ... CITROEN

Can't answer the question specifically, but if Peugeot is true to form, no it won't. I'm guessing you have sourced a petrol auto transmission (if you haven't I have a good one - motor is stuffed).

You haven't mentioned whether your car is an N3 or and N5. N3s were manufactured between 1994 and July 1997. N5s were manufactured from July 1997 on, and had one piece headlight & indicators and a different bonnet and air dam.

Citroen is Peugeot running gear on a floating suspension among other things, some weird, some really good.
