Default Need to borrow 604 PRV flexplate

Realise that this is a tall order but here goes anyway...

I need to borrow a flexplate (& spacer + flange) from a 604 with a Trimatic auto box. This will be for a couple days.

The reason being is that I am putting a ZF 4HP22 auto box into my 505v6 and need to measure the clearance between the flexplate and the torque converter.

    I am located in Sydney.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Con,

I have these bits here. They're no use to me so you're welcome to them if there is a convenient way of getting them to you.

I'm driving Brisbane-Wollongong and back in a fortnight if it helps logistics.

Thanks for the offer Scotty but I need them urgently; it's blocking the driveway

PS. BTW you wouldn't have a set of front 604 or 505 diesel springs not being put to good use?

Sadly no spare springs. I think I have a set of GTi springs here, but that's all.

Actually I'll be driving down next Friday, if that makes a difference at all.

    Con,

I have a pair of springs from a turbo diesel 505. Free length 510, number of coils 8.3 and wire diameter 14mm. Let's know if interested.

Don't need the flexplate anymore, thanks Scott. But would you be able to pick up a pair of springs from Norm (near Ballina)?

And I could get them off you either in Sydney or Wollongong?

PS. What are planning to do with the Volvo PRV flexplate that you now have spare?

Send me a PM if you wish to sell it.

Does this mean that a 4HP22 can be fitted to a 604? I was wondering if this would be easy because a shorter torque tube for a 604 might just be to use a 505 one, but then someone told me that the 4HP22 was never fitted on the PRV so I just forgot about it.

What donor car would I need to look out for? Presumably a late 505 V6?

    Hi Scotty,

Notice that you are back from your trip. Have you had a chance to send me the flexplate yet?

    cheers

They were fitted to 604s but these were not sold in Australia.

A late 505v6 would be the one.

this week I was offered a 4HP22 for free from a Range Rover.
    is this worth having?
If anyone has parts from a broken Peugeot one can I use them to adapt a good Range Rover one?

I can't help you with the compatibility of Peugeot vs RR ZF transmissions, but it could be a nice straightforward way to fit a V8 to a 604....
