Default Exact location of Peugeot 206 engine number ?

I've Googled this but can't find a definitive answer.
I have a 2005 model, 3-door hatch. They say that the number is stamped on the block at the gearbox end of the engine, but I can't see it.....though the sunlight half-blinding me doesn't exactly help.

Could some kind soul please give me an exact description of it's location ? Top ? Side ? Front ?
And is it necessary to move anything to see it ?

Alternatively, which part of the VIN is it ?

Here's a less than helpful link: TU5JP4 The very first section tells you where to find it, but it's not that clear.

The engine serial number is not part of the VIN, however if you plug the VIN into service box, it will tell you what the engine code of the engine that it left the factory with.

I can do it for you if you haven't signed up or don't want to.

What do you need the number for? In the VIN will be the code NFU or something similar, which tells you what type of engine it is, but not the serial number.

I found a pic that I took of a Xsara with that engine, and wouldn't you know it, you can actually see it.

Perhaps not on a 206, though, as it's a bit smaller under there.

Thanks guys. Currently the car is unregistered.
I thought I needed the engine # to get the Compulsory Third Party component of my registration. Then I can legally take it to get a safety cert at the garage, then on to the Transport Dept to finalize registration.
But when I called, they said I only need the VIN #.

However it would be good to know where the engine # is, in order to tell the garage. They will definitely need to write it down for the safety cert.
I once had a car from which a garage wrote down a number they found on the block, but which later turned out to be some other number....a batch number or block casting number.
