Default Peugeot 206 road noise and high beam drops off?

My 206 2004 is also noisy on the road , you would swear it was the front wheel bearings but it goes away on the smoothest roads .
Country roads around here are rough surfaced , gravel size is larger when they lay the bitumen.
The car has Hankook radials on the front , new when we got the car .
Wondering if it is just the tyres?
    Any ideas?

The car has the sensor in the windscreen and the later type multi-switch assembly.
Driving along the headlights dip themselves .
Is it a relay or the switch or faulty sensor?

In all likelihood it's the tyres. I have experienced the same thing on other cars a few times. Easy enough to check the bearings though.

Yeah I had the noise problem with an Alfa 156 about ten years ago. Even had the bearings checked. They were fine. When I changed the aging Pirellis for new Michelins the 'bearing noise' went away and the whole car felt that much quieter.

In respect of the headlights I suspect it will be the switch. Have a look on EBay UK for the best price I recently bought one from Poland for our 406 and can attest to the fact it works fine.

    Black C2,
i figured the front tyres might be the culprit .
No way of knowing how old they are.

    Pugnut,
i got some bit from Latvia, very helpful.
He even put me onto some sites to find my Polish family .
