Default Can someone please identify these BE3 gearbox fragments?

    Hello all,

I recently bought a 205 GTi with a broken drive line (BE3 gearbox), and as you may have seen in another thread the problem turned out to be pulverized cluster gears from the differential.

I was hoping to just be able to flush the gearbox itself out and fit a replacement diff assembly but after sticking a telescopic magnet thingy inside the gear box case I fished out all these pieces.

Obviously the chunks and particles are remnants of gear teeth, but what are the long thin curved pieces?

Clearly i'll have to dis-assemble the whole box at the very least to clean it out but it looks like more damage has been done than first thought.

    Cheers
    Ben

PS, the bolt is only there for reference, it's about 40 - 50 mm long.

They look like synchro springs, or were.
