    Default 207 hdi

    Hi Forum,
Just joined because I've been offered a 207 HDi wagon and I'm thinking seriously about it. Its a one owner with 120k. How far off is a cam belt change and what should I expect to pay? Otherwise the only negative I have is that the drivers seat is damn hard after a few hours at the wheel. Is that a common complaint?
Is there anything else i ought to know about?
    Thanks for advice.
    Cheers

Normally hard seats is an accusation I'd level at BMW. A weighty previous owner could have inflicted compression to the foam, though - sure a skilled trimmer could make some adjustments.

Quoted timing belt change intervals are different to the UK, the official reason is it's a more extreme climate here. The 1.6 diesel is in many ways a "fussier" motor and will show neglect sooner than the 2.0 HDi. I mention this because of not knowing which you have.

Peugeot 207 HDI FAP (would be 1.6)

Cam Belt Change Interval 180000 or 9years (as recommended by Peugeot)
Consider the type of driving that has been done eg stop start city short run etc that is hard on belts and err on the the side of caution!
The latest generation of cam belts has improved greatly over the older type.
