    AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!

You won't believe what I drove today - like a dream come true..

I am overseas at the moment and will post a full review and pictures when I get back, but just had to tell some people who share my passion..

Yes, it's real and yes, it's awesome and yes I am trying to get it in my garage

Yep it certainly is a real 205 T16 and they are more awesome in the metal than any picture can show.

Rather than provide short, incomplete snippets of my experience, I'll write up something properly as soon as I get back to Oz next week as it's a bit difficult at the moment whilst I'm travelling.

    Cheers to all

Pls buy it Steve!! But then again, u live in WA, so even if you did, it'll be harder for the Sydney froggies to see it one day....yes, looks very menacing... how much KW does it do (at the flywheel?)...I read from somewhere that the Formula B Class cars were so powerful, maybe too powerful... when u get back, would love to hear how the handling and brakes are like on such a powerful car and how they compare to modern STi or EVO (mitsubishi) or Porsche Turbo supercars...

The car is well documented in the book "Peugeot 205 GTi Enthusiast's Companion". Not sure if it's still in print, but a must for any 205 owner.

Only 200 T16, LH drive, road going cars were produced, in order to meet homologation rules. A further 20 Evolution1 were made, then some more Evolution 2 cars.

All wheel drive, mid mounted, twin cam, 1775cc (based on the XU block), 16V, intercooled turbo - 200hp in road cars
    E1 cars - 320+hp

IC. Peter, whats the XU Block? IS that the 1.6 smaller 205 GTi Block? Just ran the conversions, 200hp= 149KW
    320hp= 239KW
I's assume this is the 149KW model?

WRX2PUG, so were do you live..... and were will you keep the beast..... i have a lovely and lonely second spot in my garage next to my S16, whos been looking for a playmate......
Its obvious you WILL have this car in Oz soon, but really let the Oz frogs in the eastern states get a taste of the T16 will ya,
PeterT, I notice that most are grey in colour, the one i had a ride in (6 years ago) was white, does that mean its fake/UK import and it wasnt road registered.

xqisid, I've only seen pics of the metalic grey, but check this out....

Ex-Jean Todt personal car. Chassis Number VF3741R76E5100033. Perfect original condition, 230 BHP. This car has been factory painted in white from new, bodyshell is white from new, unlike the standard production cars that has been re-painted in a second time by Peugeot. These second-had paint cars are showing anthracite interiors. Jean Todt car has been manufactures all new in white. This is the only 100% white production car. Actual collector bought it directly from Peugeot Sport and only drove the car few kilometres, just enough to maintain the mechanical components in top condition. Immediately available in Europe with French licence plates for 55,000 Euros OBO (Or Best Offer).

Seems to suggest it's unique and any other white cars have been repainted??

At the time (6 year ago), i didn;t really know the diff' beetween that car and a normal 205... so it could have well been a respray, stickered unit.
This was in South Aust, near a town called Mt Baker. The car was not road registered so it and did have a cage and race buckets, but was on street tyres. Apart from the thing beig VERY loud, i don't remember much else about it. It could have well being rolled in a rally and then had a respray?? not sure....
thanks for that great little history lesson GB. Cheers Xq
