Default 205 GTI MI16 xu10j4 conversion exhaust advice

I am currently installing a mi16 2l engine in to 205 gti. Just after some advice on the exhaust system. I have the genuine mi16 exhaust manifold, but the 205 gti exhaust doesn't fit flush with the manifold. Does anyone have a mi16 down pipe or know of another way to join the exhaust up? Or advise on extractors for this setup?

I have checked this wedge out. Not sure if it will work with mi16 2l... Ive just emailed Peter T to see if it will work. Otherwise it sounds like i need the a mi16 2l down pipe from the exhaust manifold to floor panel, then to weld this on to the existing exhaust pipe.

I can't help (sorry) but will be interested to hear about what cat type, pipe size and exhaust you decide to run. I am looking for a nice free-flowing system (with standard headers) but do not want a drone and can't afford to swap and change systems so want to get it right first time.
