Default 307 central looking key fob problems

Hi all. Having some problems with the above. when I change the battery, it works fine, for about a day then stops and the same when I change it again. The only thing my dealer wants to do is sell me a new key for a lots of dollars! I thought I would ask the forum if there have been similar problems.

Sounds like a contact issue of the battery tab and the key fob circuit. Try open up the key and look at the condition of the terminals, clean it up etc Happens on my 206 a bit these days.

I've seen more than one 307 where the transmitter had a really feeble range. You pretty much had to hold it over the steering wheel for a result!

We have these in stock if they help. They don't come with the circuit board but.
They are brand new and only $33

Thanks I did get a new casing thinking that it might help. Is it supposed to be a rechargeable battery in the fob?

No, just a regular disposable button cell.
