    Default Help with driveshaft removal

    [/URL]

I don't have the gearbox chapter so I'm trying to work this out myself. I have the lower arm starting to move but I'm stuck here. Do I just use more force to pull it down and out? Also can I remove the lower roll bar mount or does it have to be the top one? Sorry posting from phone so hope the image shows and makes sense

Yes, a little more force. You're nearly there. I'd remove the drop link altogether for now.

Yep you need to get the ball joint out of the strut and then the strut has enough movement for the shaft to come out.

I've used a big pry bar between the arm and strut housing to pull the joint out and move it aside plenty of times before.

    Cheers

I used a big screw driver to get to this point now I can't get purchase to pry further and it felt harder to move so I thought I would check before upping the ante. Thank you for clarification.

Just be careful to not damage the rubber on the lower ball joint while you're levering.

Agree with Beano, sometimes a well placed block of wood can be very helpful.

Also, just to confirm you have undone the swaybar link from the control arm?
