Default New brakes and rotors, wear in time?

Hi, I've just returned to my car after a month away. Just before I left I had new rotors and pads put in, mum had the car for the month so its done about 1000 k's but ive noticed that the front rotors are worn towards the outer section of the disc, however, towards the hub, the disc looks barly worn and is in fact a little rusty, is this just the pads still seating themselves or is this not normal? sorry to sound naive, but I've never encountered this before. The rears seem fine. any thoughts? Thanks

This does not sound normal at all. The 1000 k's that has been done since the new brakes were installed is more than enough for the pads to settle. Even if they hadn't settled yet, the pads should not be leaning towards the top of the disc and creating uneven wear. I'd go and have it checked out as it sounds as though something is NQR. Even if you go to another place for a second opinion before you go pointing the finger might be a good idea!

Thanks!! I'll do just that. It does look a bit dodgey.

yup agree with seesully. It isnt normal. With NEW rotors/pads the wear should have been uniform within few hunderd km's. Is it the same on both sides? What about inner side of the rotors?

Im leading to the possible servicing of the calipers.
