from 6 to 12volt ?
going from 6 volt to 12 volt on a R4 is not a real problem I think, but what about the distributor ? could I just use the one that was running on 6 volt ? tried it before did not work , maybe there was another problem, can someone help me with this please ? thanks, cor fregate 928

There is no difference between a "12v" dizzy and a "6v" dizzy. After it's only a rotary switch. The capacitor across the points will be different so will the ignition coil. Just snaffle these from a 12v car.Originally Posted by fregate928

No worries at all. Changing out 6v for 12v is a doddle. The guy you want to talk to is Graham (59Floride). He's suffered through all this so you don't have to.
