    Default 205 to mi16 conversion

Hi guys, just wondering of anyone in the Canberra area has experience with the engine conversion from an gti 8v to the mi16 engine?

    Cheers,
    Nathan

    Hi mate.

There are a coupe in town who have done it, although both are quiet on here these days.

I've done the gti6 conversion myself, so depending on what your plan is, happy to provide my 2 cents.

I'm going through the process at the moment in the odd hour a week that I get free time. There's a lot of information on the process on here and 205gtidrivers but you need to piece the bits together as I haven't found a complete end to end guide that captures everything in detail. Are you stuck with anything in particular?

No, just considering it at this point. Found an Mi16 that is going and going cheap that runs well. My poor old 2v has a blown head gasket, and some other unknown issues at the moment, so it seems like an interesting idea.
So testing the water to see if anyone has experience, mostly.

I did 8v to 1.9 mi16 last year. Was relatively straight forward depending what model/year 205 you have. I think the motronic conversion was much more simple. Happy to answer any questions regarding the conversion.

    93 GTi.
Looking at a 93 Mi16 engine as well.

Which is what the factory 'should' have done to keep the 205 homologated for a couple more years and at the pointy end.
Go aftermarket EFI as the setups are just about idiot proof and cheap with 'off the shelf' parts.

Ha! Idiot proof is probably a good thing in my case
    Thanks Brendan.
    Another quick question.
The Citroen BX16v is the same engine as the Mi16, correct?
